Maire comments:Well he is full of them, No need to worry l will not
let Orange put antennas on your side pointing towards some
houses, this was
his first lie "he did nothing"
I will try and find another site away from houses, another lie he did
nothing
"l have found another site but you did not speak to the owner of the
land", another lie he did nothing
There is no danger, " l live less than 300 meters away from the mast so
l would not want to make myself ill would l?. Well that must be true because he could not
be that ignorant "could he ?" the only problem with that answer is that he is retiring soon and he is
probably going to move away from the village. so another lie.
He tells the villagers there is nothing he can do about stopping Orange
Telecom, that is not true he has all the power as orther strong Mayor's are not allowing
mast's near houses.
Boulangerie comments:(we believe she has bread contracts with the local school and the local fetes and parties, she at first did support us and had petitions in her shop, a few days latter she went the other way)
All on the Radio, for someone who does not have an opinion she really does some talking, basically she said that all the people against the mast were causing trouble for the village and did not represent the thinking of the other villagers, who want to use their mobile phones in their houses, ( they don't want to use the normal phones they have had for years, also you must understand that the village of about 300 houses is one of the oldest in France, with an aged population to suit. I don't think there is too many who will embrace the 21st century mobile text sending phones.)
Pharmacie: He said "l think it is the same as when the micro waves came into the kichen, there is little to worry about mobile masts, the micro wave is far more dangerous"
Tabac comments:Well we haven't had much input from him other then he is not on our side, even though he is not intending to purchase nor does he own a mobile phone, "l think the problem may be family related"
The Police comments:We found it hard to get a quote from them about
mobile masts, but when we did they said there was no danger and they would be quite happy
to live near one
so there you go Orange stick them all on the police stations, and in their living
complexes.
Well since the Antenna was erected but not operating, we have had many people up from the village to visit the site and now they relies just how close they are to the dangers, there has been no further comments from the above directly to our group, they seem to be more worried about the dangers and now starting to take note of what they are being told.
The French have no words for ignorance is bliss, behapes that's not a bad thing !!
